Last week, we held the 3rd Israeli Selenium Meetup at the Google TLV Campus.
The meetup has been receiving some great feedback – both from beginners and more advanced users. We’ve also been receiving loads of great ideas for the next meetups. We hope to answer as many of your request as possible.
The first presentation was given Ilan Malyanker from LivePerson who reviewed the various element locators supported by Selenium (Id, class, css, xpath and jquery). The presentation also included best practices for maximizing test stability and ease of maintenance.
Because element identification is one of the fundamental skills that every Selenium developer must master, Ilan’s experience and knowledge proved to be very relevant to many of the participants.
Check out a video of Ilan’s presentation:
The second session focused on large scale Selenium automation. Itay Shmool, Wix’s QA manager shared some of the challenges Wix encountered in growing such a large scale test automation operation, how they were overcome, and Wix’s strategy to cope with current and future challenges.
Itay also went into detail about how Wix have started to incorporate Applitools Eyes into their automated testing framework. He explained how they’ve begun to take advantage of Applitools Eye’s automated visual testing capabilities for both regression and progression testing and by doing so, speed up new automated testing scenarios and increase their automation coverage.

We had a great time and hope you’ll be able to join our next meetup on the 12th of May. A full agenda will be published soon.
